About Us
Blessed To Give - Introduction and Mission Statement
Blessed To Give is a nonprofit organization currently filed in the state of Texas; but with the intent of providing services nationwide. The objective of Blessed to Give is to prevent homelessness, primarily among our veterans, the elderly and those disabled who are more and more becoming displaced due to the cost of living that has now inflated beyond their fixed incomes.
Homelessness in America is at an all time high and more and more we are seeing our elderly and disabled becoming part of that population. These are people who have either aged out of the work force or that are disabled to the extent that they are unable to work. They are being forced from their housing and many are unable to find any place to go that is affordable and safe. They are being forced to live in undesirable environments and often become victimized. Blessed to Give Homeless Prevention, with the help of those who care, can supplement those who do have housing with rent and utility assistance, as well as provide individuals in need of housing affordable housing in safe group housing and communities designed to assist them.
The goal of Blessed to Give Homeless Prevention is to open Thrift Stores throughout America. These stores will convert unwanted donated items into funds that will then be distributed back into the community to assist those in need. Those who contribute to Blessed To Give Homeless Prevention will become part of a nationwide effort to prevent homelessness among our most disadvantaged. Helping these individuals obtain or maintain sustainable housing successfully is a simple matter of communities giving their unwanted items to Blessed to Give Homeless Prevention stores.
Beyond homeless prevention, these stores will also assist communities by employing those who often have difficulty obtaining employment due to criminal history or lack of education. These stores will also serve as employment training centers and provide GED tutoring.
Blessed to Give stores will provide people who really want to help make a difference in homelessness in America the opportunity to do so in many ways; from donating unwanted items and direct financial contributions, to volunteering to assist in area stores or promotions of Blessed To Give Homeless Prevention projects. The Blessed To Give stores will represent Americans Helping Americans and provide a great relief for the ever growing demand on churches to provide benevolence assistance in their communities.
Currently we have staffing ready to open the 1st store and we are searching for a location in the Denton, Texas area. We are seeking support to pay government filing fees, the first couple of months of rent, occupancy certificates, insurance, and to purchase used store display fixtures, clothes racks, and a POS system and IT services.
Once our first location is secured, we will be in need of the following:Volunteers: Pricing of donated items, Intake Counselors (training will be provided), Cashiers and store clerks.Donations of any kind, particularly the following:Trucks, Vans & Trailers (in any condition)Building materials, including tubs, sinks, windows, doors, lighting, etc.Land and land investors: A we will be needing locations to position the tiny homes that Blessed To Give will be building. The occupants' lot rent must be below $500.00 a month. There is an investment opportunity with an affiliate joint venture land acquisition company that is being formed to help create tiny house communities. Homes Blessed To Give builds will be positioned on these properties. The occupants will only have to pay a small monthly lot rent of $400-$500 dollars each month. The joint venture will manage the locations and pay the investors their share of the profits of each property they have invested in.
We are currently wanting to obtain several large properties on the outskirts of Denton and the Dallas area. If you are interested in participating in these joint venture villages that will serve our disadvantaged seniors and veterans please contact us. We are anxious to break ground on this project.
